Seamus Molly joined Markowitz Herbold from the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington where he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ronald B. Leighton. Before clerking for Judge Leighton, Seamus served as a law clerk for Montana Supreme Court Chief Justice Mike McGrath. During his clerkships, Seamus worked on a wide variety of cases, including complex business disputes, insurance coverage disputes, and constitutional rights claims. Seamus assisted Judge Leighton and Justice McGrath by drafting opinions and orders, researching and analyzing cases, and helping prepare for oral arguments and trials.
Seamus graduated from the University of Montana School of Law with honors. While in law school, he served as an editor for the Montana Law Review and competed on the National Moot Court team. He received his undergraduate degree from Carroll College where he double majored, receiving a B.A. with distinction in both history and political science. Seamus was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honors Society, a two-time NAIA Football National Champion, 1st Team All-American Linebacker, and served as a captain of his senior year for the Carroll College Fighting Saints football team.
