Non-Unanimous Juries in Oregon: Ramos v. Louisiana

3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Remote webinar

Markowitz Herbold appellate lawyer Anna Joyce moderates a panel discussion about Ramos v. Louisiana, a Supreme Court case that held unconstitutional the use of non-unanimous juries in criminal cases. Although the Ramos decision arose from a case in Louisiana, at the time of the court's decision, Oregon remained the only state allowing criminal convictions based on non-unanimous jury verdicts.
