Chad Naso is a trial lawyer with extensive experience representing individuals, corporations, and governmental entities in a broad array of complex disputes.

A former Assistant Attorney General for the District of Columbia, he served as lead attorney on dozens of cases running the gamut from commercial disputes, constitutional law, civil rights, bankruptcy, civil forfeiture, public information law, employment discrimination, and environmental law. Before that, he practiced at the New York law firm Duval & Stachenfeld LLP where he handled a diverse mix of business litigation matters encompassing complex contractual disputes, employment discrimination and retaliation claims, and commercial transactions involving the sale of novel financial instruments.

Since joining Markowitz Herbold in 2016, Chad has often been tapped to assist with the firm’s most high-profile matters. Recent successes include:

  • Obtaining a six-figure judgment at trial on a claim for breach of a real estate contract.
  • Negotiating a favorable settlement on behalf of a low-income client alleging violations of the federal Fair Housing Act.
  • Winning summary judgment in a federal lawsuit alleging violations of Oregon’s “revenge porn” law.
