Jordanna Ishmael

Before joining the firm, Jordanna honed her litigation skills at two of Florida's premier firms. Most recently at Stumphauzer Kolaya & Sloman, she defended a digital forensics company in a putative class action in the Middle District of Florida involving novel claims under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and Stored Communications Act, and represented clients in parallel state and federal proceedings implicating civil RICO and Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. 

At Greenberg Traurig, Jordanna was a core member of the defense team in a large-scale SEC securities fraud investigation, overseeing an e-discovery project spanning more than 300,000 documents and second-chairing numerous depositions. She successfully defended entities operating e-commerce platforms against novel wiretapping claims arising from session replay technology, producing motions to dismiss that courts throughout Florida and nationally later cited as persuasive authority. She also led the successful defense of a transportation network company through a dispositive summary judgment motion and defended a medical marijuana treatment center against a putative class action. 

Jordanna is known for her command of complex factual records, facility with dispositive motion practice, and her ability to manage demanding discovery in high-stakes proceedings, including matters arising from active criminal investigations.

She is a member of the Florida Bar and has a comity application pending with the Oregon Bar. She is admitted to practice in the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the Western District of Pennsylvania. Jordanna is active in the National Association for Women Lawyers, the Federal Bar Association, and served as Vice-Chair of the Miami-Dade Bar Association's Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Jordanna earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Law Reform and President of the Sports Law Society. She received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami.
