Margaret (Maggie) Hannon

Most recently, Maggie served as a law clerk for the Honorable James (Jim) Egan at the Oregon Court of Appeals. There, she sharpened her research and writing skills, assisted in drafting memoranda and judicial opinions, and participated in argument conferences with judicial panels . She also contributed to the Oregon Court of Appeals’ Standards of Review guide, researching, writing, and editing multiple sections in collaboration with other court staff.

During law school, Maggie was a student staff member at the Fred T. Korematsu Center for Law and Equality: Civil Rights Clinic, where she contributed to amicus briefs on racially coded language, adultification bias, and anchor bias. She also gained hands-on litigation experience as a summer associate at Pfau Cochran Vertetis Amala, where she drafted pleadings—including complaints, discovery requests, and summary judgment briefs—and assisted a jury trial by providing edits to the opening statement, monitoring voir dire, tracking the trial court’s rulings, and conducting real-time legal research.

Maggie’s commitment to public service includes volunteer roles with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office – Criminal Division and the Northwest Justice Project as a legal rights educator. Before law school, she also worked with the King County Superior Court Clerk’s office as a clerk administrative specialist.

She graduated summa cum laude from Seattle University School of Law and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Portland.
