Nicholas is a pragmatic trial attorney who enjoys all aspects of the litigation process. His love of writing and public speaking pushed him to seek positions that have honed those skills.
Immediately out of law school, Nic served Jackson County, Oregon, as a deputy district attorney where he conducted a multitude of jury trials to verdict. Missing the writing aspect of trial work, he transitioned into clerking for the Honorable Chief Judge Egan in the Oregon Court of Appeals and then, immediately before joining our firm, for the Honorable Mustafa T. Kasubhai in the United States District Court of Oregon.
Nic earned his law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School where he served as an Associate Editor and the Notes & Comments Editor of Environmental Law. While on law review, Nic received the Environmental Law Review Excellence Award. He also was a Native American Law Moot Court national team member and chaired Lewis & Clark’s Native American Law Students Association. He received the Cornelius Honors Society award, a recognition bestowed by the faculty and staff based on superior scholarship, leadership, and contribution to the law school community.
Nic received his Bachelor of Science in Environment Studies from the University of Oregon where he was a Native American Student Union representative.
Before receiving his undergraduate and law degree, Nic served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation electronic technician aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. He received the global war on terrorism expeditionary medal while deployed.
