Ruling Upends Foreclosure Procedures in Oregon

MHGM Attorney Adam Starr wrote a column for the Portland Business Journal's Real Estate Daily about the Oregon Court of Appeals upending of established custom and practice when it held that loans managed through the Mortgage Electronic Registration System or MERS can no longer be nonjudicially foreclosed through trustee’s sales, but must instead be judicially foreclosed through the Oregon courts.
