Jury and Bench Trials

There are a lot of law firms out there that tout themselves as strong business litigators. But very few can say that they have a team of real trial lawyers. Markowitz Herbold is a firm of trial lawyers who take complex business cases to trial. For more than 35 years, we have recruited lawyers with a natural talent for trial work, and give them the training and in-court experience to excel in trial. We have consequently become a leading trial force in the Pacific Northwest, and we’ve built on that reputation to handle cases across the country.

As trial lawyers, we look at business litigation differently. From the beginning to the end of a case, we think about how to develop evidence and themes that will resonate with the jury, judge, or arbitrators who will ultimately decide the winner. We don’t waste time or client money on discovery issues that don’t make a difference in the end. We focus on high impact legal actions. When the case is ready for trial, we’re eager to begin. And for the cases that don’t ultimately go to trial, our experience and preparedness give our clients an edge at the settlement table.

Our trial teams have handled numerous commercial trials in Oregon and courtrooms throughout the country—from Atlanta to New York, to Chicago, to Los Angeles, just to name a few. One of our specialties is taking cases at the mid-way point or on the eve of trial when a company realizes that it needs sophisticated trial lawyers to present the case. We then work together with our clients, and often their existing litigators, to marshal the key evidence and create a hard-hitting trial package.
