Markowitz Herbold PC Names Laura Salerno Owens and Harry Wilson Shareholders

Portland litigation firm Markowitz Herbold PC announced today that Laura Salerno Owens and Harry Wilson have become shareholders with the firm.
As shareholder, Salerno Owens concentrates her practice in the area of employment litigation. She represents clients in a variety of employment law issues including noncompetition/nonsolicitation agreements and trade secrets, wage and hour disputes, discrimination charges, sexual harassment allegations, and whistleblower claims. Salerno Owens also has experience litigating claims arising under the Family Medical Leave Act, the Oregon Family Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and representing clients before the Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She is recognized as a "Rising Star" by Oregon Super Lawyers magazine, a designation reserved for only 2.5 percent of Oregon attorneys under the age of 40. Salerno Owens is the President-Elect of the Oregon Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and serves on the Board of Directors for Rose Haven Day Center for Women and Children.Wilson represents clients in high-stakes business litigation in state, federal, and international forums. His clients include businesses, individuals, governments, and nonprofit organizations. Wilson has briefed more than 50 appeals to the Ninth Circuit and Oregon Courts of Appeals and argued more than a dozen times before the Oregon Court of Appeals. In 2015, the Portland Business Journal named him one of its “Forty under 40” business leaders in recognition of his achievements as a lawyer and commitment to the community. Wilson’s writings have appeared in the Oregonian, the Oregon State Bar Litigation Journal, and the United States District Court Historical Society Newsletter. Wilson is the Chair of the Board of Directors of De Paul Treatment Centers, one of the largest non-profit alcohol and drug treatment centers in Oregon, and a member of the Oregon Coalition for the Responsible Use of Medications.
