Pro Bono Team Protects Juror Privacy

February 8, 2017

Markowitz Herbold succeeded in protecting the identities of the jurors who served on the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupation trial in October 2016. Judge Anna Brown selected Markowitz Herbold attorneys David Markowitz, Laura Salerno Owens and Harry Wilson to represent the jurors when The Oregonian, the Associated Press, and Oregon Public Broadcasting filed a motion requesting the release of the jurors’ names.

The Markowitz Herbold team developed a legal solution that protects the jurors’ privacy, while allowing the press to perform its important news gathering function.
